| He joined the Government Medical College Trivandrum, again in 1993 for speciality training in Orthopaedics. After earning an M.S. in Orthopaedics and D'Ortho, he joined his alma mater, as Assistant Professor in Orthopaedics in 1997.
In a career spanning 26 years, he has also served in the Government Medical College, Kottayam, from 2008 to 2012. He is at present heading a Unit in the Orthopaedics Department of Government Medical College, Trivandrum.
Dr. Kishore has also done a Fellowship in Bone Banking, at Queensland
Hospital Bone Bank in Queensland, Australia in 2007. He is a Member of the Association of "Union for International Cancer Control Fellows" (AUF). He has served a term as the State Secretary of the Kerala Government Teachers Association. He is also a member of the Indian Medical Association.
His spouse Dr. Lakshmi B. S. is working as Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Medical College, Trivandrum.
His son Somnath Kishore, an alumnus of IIM-Ahmedabad, previously worked as a Management Consultant in McKinsey, and has recently joined Cars24 as Senior General Manager. Somnath Kishore was Initiated in Lodge Trivandrum No.168 on 20-08-2016, and has proved to be a good ritualist.
Bro. Dr. Kishore's daughter, Malavika Kishore is a 11th Standard student in L' Ecole Chempaka School.
Bro. Dr. Kishore Somanathan was Initiated in Lodge Trivandrum No. 168 on 19-11-2011, Passed on 15-9-2012 and Raised on 16 3-2013. He has occupied every office in the Lodge before getting elected as Worshipful Master for the year 2023. He has been awarded several Certificates of Merit in Ritual working Competitions. He is a member of the Order of Mark Master Masons, Holy Royal Arch Chapter and Rose Croix.
Bro. Kishore likes to travel, and is into cycling and fitness and is an active member of Mason Sports League.
